Location
Montavigus Self-Catering was founded in one of the original farmhouses of Onrust River and by grace the property has a large garden area which enhance the farm-style feeling.
We are situated 2 km from Onrust River beach, which is an opportunity for a pleasant walk or bicycle ride.
Onrust River is approximately 7 km from Hermanus town centre and 99 km from Cape Town International Airport.
Apartment and Rooms
We have carefully restored the property to reflect the period in which is was built. The majority of the rooms have high ceilings and oregon pine floors. The house is a heritage site and major changes to the outside may not be done.
The rooms available for self-catering is attached to the main dwelling and include the following venues :
Mont Blois Apartment
This flank was added in the 1960's as indicated on the rates and taxes folio and reflect the blend of Cape Dutch and Spanish style of the house.
The apartment consists of a lounge with a small kitchenette fitted with a microwave oven and a frying pan for basic cooking and food warming, a large en-suite room with twin beds and two wardrobes. The bathroom has a closed shower, toilet.
The apartment has a ramp which ease access, has its own private small garden area with seating, as well as a built-in barbeque area.
Maximum occupation : 30 nights.
Rates : Maximum 2 people @ R850,00 per night.
Waenhuis Room
This room was converted in the 2000's from the old 'wagon house' to host a room, with a bathroom and mini serving area for coffee, tea and pre-cooked meals. No cooking may take place in this room. The room is only suitable for short stays, not longer than two days.
The en-suite room is fitted with a queen size bed, pedestals, dressing table, table suitable to work with a computer and suitable chair. The bathroom is fitted with a shower and toilet.
The area has its own patio with seating and suitable for a relaxed afternoon and a book. Access to the area is via the the passage next to the tool shed.
Maximum occupation : 2 x nights.
Rates : Maximum 2 x people @ R650per night
